Is there a Daily Power Consumption sensor - the equivalent of sensor.ebusd_hmu_yieldhcday_energy ?
I know that I can look at the cumulative monthly figure and delete midnight last night from midnight tonight, but it’s a bit of a faffe.

I dont think there is, but you can just create a utility meter helper from the total consumption that resets daily.
Is sensor.ebusd_basv_z1roomtemp_tempv the correct object for retrieving the room temperature. The issue I have is that it is giving me 18 deg c, but yet, on my sensoComfort unit, the temperature shown, at the same time, is 19.5 deg c.
I’ve looked through all of the other MQTT data objects, but I cannot find any item with 19.5 deg c
Anyone any ideas ?
ebusd basv z1RoomTemp tempv seems okay for me.
Here’s it sat next to a Xiaomi and a Tado (for cross reference)
But I think it’s one of those that doesn’t seem to update very often unless you continually poke it!
Which sensoComfort do you have? Mine (VRC720) was not automatically picked up by any of the configs I used in the past and I have some modded csv so that it appears as ctlv3 not basv.
Sensocomfort RF.
I’m just using the Jones csv files.
I’ve a VRC720f/3. It shows up as a BASV using jonesPD files.
I have now added all items I REALLY want / need to a Node-Red flow to poke them once a minute.
Can you show the output of
ebusctl info
So I can see which csv is being used?
I’m running eBusd on Docker, so I’m sorry but I don’t know how to run that, as I cannot get a command prompt inside the container.
Happy to do so if someone prompts me.
No worries, I figured it out. There’s only one .basv file which is just a symbolic link to the same .700 csv file I’m using.
I moved from john30 to jonesPD CSVs, and I lost the b7v (VRC700f/4) and bai ( ecoTEC - I’m hybrid ) entities… and flow rate isn’t still poping up…
I just copied my old file for the VRC over to the cloned jonesPD repo folder. Might work for you as well. As to why your flow rate is missing - weird. Does it just show zero for the Building Throughput measure? For me also some measurements went from hmu to vwzio, i e. from the heat pump to the hydraulic station. My old files had those two merged and both report under hmu.
I also made a change to the symlink for the 15.720.csv to point to 15.ctlv2.csv I think this is a better fit for this device. The ctlv2 file also has more info and is more up to date, actively maintained.
(New kid on the block announcement): I have a Vaillant AroTherm Plus 12 kW, VWZ AI controller, VR71 wiring centre, VR940f gateway and a SensoCOMFORT. The system is a hybrid with a small oil boiler backup via a buffer tank. I have installed an ebus Wifi interface and a load of sensors - mostly pipe temperatures but also a power monitor that tells me when the radiator circulation pump powers on and off and a little ESP32 card with a proximity detector that tells me when the fans start and stop. Everything reports to HA either directly to integrations or (in the case of ebusd) via MQTT.
I’m interested in keeping up to date with current work in decoding Vaillant ASHP commands and with all the sensors here I may be able to help. I’m particularly interested in decoding the commands and responses between controller, fans and pump(s). A quick look at the log tells me that my configuration has masters QQ = 03 ,10, 71 and f1 ,slaves ZZ = 08, 15, 26, 76 and fe and I can see non-decoded QQZZ pairings of 03-76, 10-08, 10-26, 10-76, 10-fe, 71-08, f1-08, f1-15, f1-76 but I don’t know what these represent (I haven’t read all the docs and postings yet!). I can see that f1-76 is an hourly/daily clock tick but I don’t want to repeat work that is already well covered.
Much kudos to all of you doing the pioneering work here and anything that points me in the right direction would be much appreciated.
Welcome.
There’s probably more chatter about decoding the ebus streams over on github.
I think the majority of us here are just end users.
Having skim read the first 175 posts, this all sounds good if you have the time to work it through.
I’m an installer who’s in the process of migrating from Daikin to Vaillant. For Daikin, I re-coded the ESPAltherma project to negate the need for HA and MQTT and allow messages from the ESP32 to go straight to via https. Worked well.
I’m going to struggle to sell a full heat meter solution to most clients so I’d like something that’s cheaper (all be it not MID) that allows me to see what’s going on as regards performance, cycles, temperatures etc to help dial in my installs based on actual data.
I’m not getting the sense that this solution is plug and play! (Not that ESPAltherma is particularly easy).
Is there a way of seeing this data without the expense of a full heat meter, or the bespoke configuration of ebus?
As installer, you can get access to Vaillants myVaillant Pro portal where you can monitor exactly these things for your installed systems. Would that be sufficient? They just need to be connected to the internet with a sensoNet and give permission for you to be added to your installer portal
it’s not discovering it but I show those ones in % :

Are you only looking at the MQTT data from Home Assistant? Home Assistant only shows a subset of what’s actually there. I remember I edited an additional file to see more ebus data in HA. I’ll have a look later.
I recommend MQTT Explorer as standalone program to look at the MQTT data in real time.
Thanks, my Vaillant rep was a bit vague on this. I’m a Brit in France, so I’m swimming upstream with the language thing to!
Is there a guide / info source somewhere that I can read up to ask my rep more specifically what I need?
Thanks again
