I’m rather new to OEM and I’m trying to get it working reliably for our new Vaillant heat pump installation. Here’s a screengrab of a couple of DHW cycles overnight.
Both runs start to throw errors when the flow temperature reaches around 51 degrees.
The portal talks about air in the heating system (and I’ve followed those instruction), but I saw a 4000 error code on the Qualcosonic itself and the manual says, “temperature differential is lower than permissible limits.”
Do you have any ideas what’s going on? How can I get reliable readings from the heat meter?
Cheers
Jason.
PS. My hot water tank is a Mixergy and we’re using their plate heat exchanger.
This just happened again at the end of another DHW cycle at ~51 degrees, but the error on the meter was 0001, which means, “no signal; the flow sensor is not filled with water.” What’s that mean? Air in the system?
Hello @Jason yes this is air in the system, there’s a documentation page about how to fix this here Removing Air from Heating Systems — OpenEnergyMonitor 0.0.1 documentation. It seems to be easier to fix on some systems than others and exactly why that is is not clear to us, let us know if you are able to resolve this.
Hi @Trystan,
Hmmm, I dunno, I’ve tried everything. I had the installer back to install an additional AAV on the DHW side but that’s made no difference. As soon as the DHW temperature reaches ~47C, the sensor starts throwing 0001 errors.
Is there anything that can be done?
Cheers
Jason.
