Hi guys, all of a sudden every feeds have stopped to refresh their values. Inputs seem ok. I’ve tried to restart the raspberry, power down and up few times. The system is updated, there’s space on the SD. Please let me know if you need anything (logs etc) that helps in resolving this. Thank you in advance
Logs would be useful, recent emonhub.log and emoncms.log entries can be found via emoncms (assuming you have the config module installed).
Is this a self-build or an emonSD?
Where does the data come from?
Is the feedwriter used? if so is that running? (used for low-write emoncms and it’s status can be checked on the admin page if in use)
You say the inputs look ok, are the “updated” values in green? Is there any red “Error” tags in the input process lists?
Where are you seeing the “feeds have stopped” ? is it on a dashboard/visualisation or on the feeds page?

Sorry that command should have said “mosquitto” not “mqtt” (I’ve corrected it now) so could you check the mosquitto service with sudo systemctl mosquitto status although I’m pretty sure it’s ok if you are seeing the inputs update.
I’ve also changed the command to use the more accurate "redis-serverrather than justredis` since this doesn’t work the same as it does on my system (Debian9 running just emoncms not emonSD)

When did you last run an update ?
Can we see your emonpiupdate.log?
Did you do anything around the time the data stopped, eg using the sync module, updating, change any settings etc?

I also noticed that your server info showed the buffer as “loading…” is that still the case? Looking at one of your previous posts (Input list doesn't load - #10 by ivancaregnato) that has previously showed a status like “60 feed points pending write” but I do not know if this is significant.
Plus, have you recently updated the OS packages using apt-get? It’s just I notice you are now running Mosquitto v1.4.14 where as the images installed version was originally 1.4.10 (also seen in your previous post), but again I have no idea if this is significant yet.
I ran it sunday, pressing emonpi update (my bad, I know I have to press emonbase update but I didn’t do it intentionally…the problem was already present)

No I didn’t…nothing have been touched/changed since the last update on may.
I reinstalled everything in order to solve that issues Paul, that’s the reason I’m on October17 emonSD but the system is online since 2016.
I’ve probably updated the systemy by apt get update/upgrade, but that was months before this issue. I think I’ll backup again my data, change the SD Card and put everything back with a fresh install.
I wasn’t suggesting there was any links at all, just using your previous system information post to point out the difference in that buffer line.
I cannot think of any particular reason why your system should have “just stopped” and certain cannot fathom why that issue would remain after a reboot if your system has run for so long without issue.
The difficulty now is that the info you are providing all relates to the system now rather than the system as it was when it failed. Not only did it break, but now it’s changed too, so we do not know where it’s at.
If the inputs page is updating, the issue has to be in emoncms, emonhub and mqtt etc are all working for the data to be on the inputs page. When the inputs are updated, that triggers the processing and that should cause the feeds page to “look like” it’s updating even if the buffer/feedwriter wasn’t working. If there were permission issues that should show an error in emoncms.log.
The only other thing that springs to mind is “duplicated inputs”, can you please open all the inputs on the input page of emoncms and confirm that ALL the inputs of each input node are updating and that there are no duplicated inputs (ie twice as many inputs as expected). When the inputs get duplicated, the second set of inputs get updated and the original inputs that have the processing are not, so the data doesn’t get processed.
If inputs are duplicated, just delete the newer input set (usually lower in the list, being updated and without any input processes) one at a time and the older original “stale” inputs will start to update again.
You really should not need to switch images and start afresh.
