Hey. I have one of Phil’s great devices, and recently connected it to my EmonPi. Have been searching this forum looking for any tips from any other Ecodan users who might have tried publishing it to HeatpumpMonitor.org?

My end goal is to try and understand how well the auto-adaptive mode is working and perhaps try to control with home assistant (or something similar), but in the mean time I’d like to see how it compares!

How did you connect it to your EmonPi?

I am also interested in the above, although I have no external monitoring aside from a Shelly 1PM on a Ecodan R290 6kW and I am now also using a second MQTT connector on an Ecodan R32 8.5kW.

MQTT. The instructions here worked fine for me MQTT — OpenEnergyMonitor 0.0.1 documentation - using the default password etc.

I can get the data fine locally on the emonli and visualise and graph it - I think I need to understand a bit better how to put into Emoncms.org and or HeatpumpMonitor. At the moment it seems to only upload when I do it manually and - while it seems to get data updates every 10 seconds it sort of struggles aggregating the data over more than a couple of hours.

I don’t yet have a power meter connected to my heatpump - but do have some connected to other devices and have found the MQTT works pretty work there too.

I have had issues getting my smart meter cad unit to talk to the Emonpi - I think this is because it sends MQTTmessages that are too deeply nested and that it should be possibly to use the transformation operators (along with +/ etc to get the values logged and visualised)

Does anyone know the schema between the CN105 connector and the UART ? I’m unable to establish communication, and I’m worried that at some point I may have connected 12V to RX/TX and damaged something on the board…

thank you. I know the pinout.

I think I stupidly put 12V on the Rx pin during my manipulations. If I have the schematic of the UART part of the PCB (between CN105 and the UART chip), I can try to check if something is damaged. (by following the signal with a scope). Or maybe you know if there are some protections on Input/Output of the UART ?

Is the heatpump still working ? Did you put 12v from the ecodan to an esp rx/tx ? or on the CN105 connector?

Fortunately, the heat pump is still working. Yes on the CN105 connector on the PCB (frying a ESP would not be funny at all)

Frying an ESP is much cheaper than frying a FTC/CN105…

I would try replacing the ESP first, but this is where buying a proper pre-made cable will eliminate the risk.

or Just don’t juse 12v at all, it’s not needed. Use the 5v from the cn105 to power the esp.

Please forget my question. The issue was a bad contact on the connector Tx pin.

Hi,
My indoor unit has 2 boosters, one 3kW and one 6kW. @F1p Is it possible to add a 2nd booster to Mitsubishi Ecodan Bridge? I only see the 1st booster (3kW) when gets activated. It would be nice to see them both running. Depending on the necessary heat, the 1st booster gets activated or the second or both in the same time.

Would it be possible to provide a telnet export while the booster is running so i can be sure we are identifying it properly (maybe in a DM)

I can see both boosters now. I don’t feel like messing with the heat pump right now, but tomorrow night we will get -20C so i know that both boosters will be active. Will report back.

I just found and implemented the total increasing energy consumption according to the heatpump. We now have ‘realtime’ sensor for it. It can be useful to ppl without energy meter to get a better understanding of the consumption.

This is a FTC6+ only parameter for awareness
