It’s now been over a year since I installed a Grant Aerona HP290 heat pump in my house to replace an Oil combi boiler, I’ve recently published a video update about the performance so far:

With that in mind, I’ve started using my 6.5kW Grant R290 for space heating for the first time today and the performance if I’m honest has been rather disappointing. If been looking at your system Glyn and you seem to have a constant heat output whereas mine is fluctuating as a result of the flow temperature ramping up and then falling back again.
I was just wondering if you or anyone else have any thoughts about things to tweak or look out for…

It would be useful to see your internal temperature on the graph. It looks like the Room Temperature Correction could be reducing your flow temperature as the room temperature increases, this is good and expected behaviour. What is your Room Temperature Correction on Circuit 1 set to? Do you have Pump Blockade disabled?
Is your system on HeatPumpMonitor? If so, please post a link so I can have a look at your data.

Room temperature correction is set to 3ºC.
Pump blockade is disabled.
For some reason I don’t seem to have an option on OEM to display room temperature so I’m not sure if that’s an issue with the install? (PS waiting for an IMS engineer to pass by to install the DHW status kit).

About to pull the trigger on the same unit as you. One question I was hoping you might be able to answer is whether I can have different target temperatures for hot water at different times of day. Say I wanted for it to be 50 degrees target from 00:00 to 06:00 and then 43 degree target 16:00 to 22:00 and off the rest of the time, is that possible?
You can’t with the standard controller, but with help from Home Assistant you can (I’ve done this using the EcoNEXT and Rest API control systems).
Ahh that’s interesting, I do love a bit of HA. Is that local control or does it require a persistent connection to Grant servers? I have found local control to be a little more reliable with these kinds of things in the past.

For EcoNEXT you keep the control panel but swap the cloud-connected box for a raspberry pi (even an old v1 works fine):
The REST API talks directly from Home Assistant to the heat pump, so no extra hardware required, but it’s more hassle to send commands to the device:
