Hi Gary,
Sorry, we don’t have a solid date yet. We’re in the process of launching the emonPi3. We’re hopeful we should have stock of emonPi3 in April. We’ll drop you a message when we have availability.
Might it be worth offering a pre-order facility for the new emonTX6/emonPi3 and the emonWiFi board?
Would give you an idea of pent up demand ![]()
My TED is all but useless. I’m looking forward to eMonPi3 (pent, pent)
I’m not too keen on taking people’s money until we have everything ready to go. We’ve already got a long email waiting list ![]()
I’m sorry it’s taken this long, we’ve been let down by a supplier of the emonVS DC-DC power supply which is necessitated redesigning the emonVS for a different power supply model, only to find out this had a 4 month lead time. Manufacturing is very frustrating sometimes.
@glyn.hudson - do you think this is worth putting up on the OEM homepage? Presumably that’s where most people land first ![]()
I wasn’t suggesting taking money, but simply a waiting list (like your email list) but automated. May well give you a good idea of demand of the different options and so support your manufacturing runs.
Hello all, first post.
I’ve been using some of the basic original original designs in my own projects for years including in my own Arduino based heatpump / heating distribution monitor which is still going strong. However, having just purchased an EV it’s prompted me that we really need to start keeping an eye on power overall. Rather than start another project which I’ll inevitably prevaricate over for a few months I’ve decided to bite the bullet and put something off the shelf…. Only I found I couldn’t order, and it’s only since coming here I’ve realised that there’s a version 3 in the works.
Any updates on delivery of the version 3?
Might be worth putting it on the shop even if its not available so it’s obvious there’s something coming otherwise it looks like you’ve shut up shop.
Lastly, I’d be more than happy to purchase just the pi2 shield as a kit plus necessary CT and power supply components rather than a fully boxed bundle. I don’t need the case, LCD or the RF unit. Have you any old stock in this format you want to dispose of cheaply?
Dropped an email the other day but haven’t heard back yet.
Cheers, Lee
Hi Lee - the Pi3 should be available start of next month. There’s been a sourcing issue with one of the components for the voltage sense unit (the original supplier ended up on Uncle Sam’s naughty list…).
And welcome! There’s lots of reading and info to get you started in the meantime.
Let us know if you have any other questions ![]()
Nice one. Thanks for the update, good to know there’s something new in the pipeline.
The emonPi3 and emonTx6 hardware are now available, thank you for your patience:
Ordered and deliverered and installed! many thanks!
Good news @LeeOutram - how’s it been so far, any difficulties getting it installed and running?
Its running great thanks, just followed the video for the previous version. Hardest part was drilling holes through walls and reconfiguring the distribution board to make the best use of the CTs.
Impressed so far and the missus is happy now she can see where the monthly money goes.
Next step is MQTT importing data from my heat pump monitor to take advantage of the logging facilities.
Cheers,
Lee
Nice work! Thanks for your order.
Yours must be one of the first emonpi3’s up and running in the wild! It would be great to see a photo
