Recently, I want to build a system powered by 14.8v Li-po battery pack or mains power (selectable power path). When the mains adapter is connected, the battery will be charged and the system will be powered from the adapter. I’ve found a family of standalone charger chips by Texas Instruments doing exactly that. It’s the bq246xx. This family has some features like over/under-voltage/current protection.
