I have 3 OpenEVSEs (all on 8.2.2.EU and v5.1.5 WiFi), one with the old small LED screen and which is causing no problem, but the other 2 have the large screen and and the Vehicle Connection status is constantly flipping between ‘Plugged In’ and ‘Unplugged’ every second or so.
This is shown in the web app, my Home Assistant Integration and also on the display of those 2 OpenEVSEs.
This only occurs when the cable is physically unconnected and the unit is disabled by the timer schedule. Connect the cable and/or override the timer and this oscillation stops allowing the unit to correctly report whether it is connected or not.
All 3 OpenEVSEs have been running for some time without apparent problem until an earthing problem tripped the RCD a few weeks ago so they all were powered off and it is since then I have noticed this. However, It is also only recently I’ve put some effort into integrating the EVSEs with Home Assistant and I noticed this errant behaviour.
The RCD tripping seems an unlikely cause of the same problem in 2 different units or some other reason it has started recently or has it been a problem for some time and I only just noticed? Hmmm. No idea. The problem does seem to be confined to the newer large screen though.
Anyone seen this? Suggestions?
