Hi all, Vaillant owners in particular.
I just noticed my Vaillant mobile app has a new user setting that enables setting the heat curve from the app as well as the previous method of programming the ‘sensoComfort’ controller.
There is also a good ‘learn more’ link and graphic curve display that makes understanding a lot better. Searching the web found this confirmation.
I haven’t tinkered with it yet but it seems like a huge improvement over consulting charts and the old method of setting.
I’d be interested in others experience of this.
Hello. I have installed the new version of the app. It is a great improvement on the previous, easy to adjust the heat curve, and also the min flow and the outdoor temp switch off.
I’ve used this to adjust the heat curve and the outdoor temp threshold, but I don’t understand what the min flow temperature setting does.
I noticed on heatpumpmonitor that in the last 24 hours I’ve had a defrost, a DHW run and 2 x cycling off for 15 minutes or so, as the external temperature has risen.
It’s a 7Kw Vaillant Arotherm+ running in ‘Inactive’ mode, with target room temp at 19°C. The WC curve is set to 0.7, the min flow temperature is set to 15°C, and the outdoor temp switch off threshold is set to 16°C.
What does the min flow temperature affect?
For example, you’d need to set the min flow temp to say 30C for you to see if have any affect. Even then it would only kick in at 10C an above, cos of the curve/indoor temp chosen.
Have your heat curve charts been updated to reflect the actual equation that Vaillant uses to calculate flow temps, as discovered by, amongst others, @Andre_K ?
Thanks @Zarch. Your explanation makes sense, and thanks for pasting in the table from your website. I can see that, with my setup, it’s effectively disabled, so I won’t try to understand it further at the moment .
