I moved into a property early this year which already had a heat pump installed. It is a VWL aroTHERM plus /6 Mono 125. I have this week added an internet gateway to the system to complement the sensoCOMFORT display that was already there and starting to get more to grips with how everything is set up. From what I gather the previous owner was a plumber so it has been a self install.
I may be being really dim but how do I get the gateway to update the firmware for the heat pump? I see people discussing various Vaillant firmwares but I cannot see what version my heat pump currently has or where I can update it.
Really appreciate the help topics on the page, I am learning all sorts of new things about heating curves
Many thanks for that, it certainly sounds like a pain. I had thought it would be as simple as upgrading firmware on other devices like computers, routers etc. That would have been too easy
Hi, I have just received the internet gateway and true to form the installation instructions are specially written for inhabitants of a remote planet in a universe far far away. My system is almost identical to yours with a wired sensocomfort. The sensocomfort caused similar head scratching until I realised that it did not matter which way round it was wired to the bus. The gateway box contains a lot of parts which I suspect enable it to be connected to every Vaillant boiler and heatpump ever made but few clues as to what is needed for an Aerotherm plus. It would be really helpful if you could let me know what you connected to what. My guess is that all that is really needed in this case is a two wire connection from the my_vaillent connect box to the Ebus connection where the sensocomfort wire comes in. does anyone know if this is a reasonable assumption.
Many thanks for this as its always good to have some confirmation before wielding screwdriver. Many companies installation instructions are a bit obscure but Vaillants are in a class of their own. This is a real shame as their hardware is first class.
