Vaillant Arotherm Interface wiring help required

Hoping someone can confirm what I’d like to do is correct.

I still have a pump and blending valve for my UFH, from when we had an oil boiler, controlled by a roomstat via a wiring centre.

Yes, I know it would be better without the pumpset but it’s where we are.

I’d like to get rid of said stat and wiring centre, so am I correct in saying that if I wire the UFH circulation pump directly to MA1 in the HPI, this will control the pump, switching it on/off, when there’s a demand for heating/cooling? :crossed_fingers:

My understanding is that MA1 would more usually control a post buffer pump. We don’t have any of that, so MA1 is currently not used for anything.

All sorted.

Barrie, I have the same issue. Would you mind describing the solution you have found?

Hi Peter,

This is what I had, with the pump getting its signal from a wiring centre, via wireless room stats…

I’ve removed the last few actuators and the pump is now wired directly to MA1 …

When I’ve got a little more time, I’ll put a hole in the trunking and tidy the wiring up properly.
