I don’t know, I did some digging and found that line changed it then it worked as it should. I swapped it back to original just to see if indeed that was the culprit and it was. I have a HW-625 ESP8266. Now to tackle why it I get a message to the server every 2 seconds instead of every second.
If any one is looking I extracted the firmwares of the MTU and RDU (locked version) here it is https://github.com/brianbri6/ted1001firmwares I used a pickit 3 programmer. Programming header pinouts for both MTU and RDU are the same.
