a newbe here

i have a sonoff basicR2 and sonoff socket S26
i would like either for my emonpi to turn on a pump when i have excess power generation

i can connect to the devises wifi direct ITEAD xxxxx with password 12345678
10.10.7.1 does not respond
192.198.4.1 does not respond
do they need to be reflashed and are there any details to do this
or is there a simpler way

What are those IP addresses, please?

I suspect the easiest may be to have all devices on the same wifi network, the sensors reporting over mqtt and then emoncms demandshaper doing the switching, but I have no experience with such things yet.

Hi Michael, I suggest you have a look at tasmota firmware for sonoff devices. Many control options are available for your integration then!

From the documentation I thought that i need to configure the sonoff switch so that the demand shaper can see it
Above are the ip addresses that i should see the devise on to configure

If you want to use the sonoff, you have to reflash it with the emonesp firmware.

# Using EmonESP on the Sonoff S20 smart plug

This guide details how to use EmonESP on the Sonoff S20 smart plug. The SonOff can then be turned on and off via MQTT or/and used in conjunction with the emoncms demandshaper module for appliance scheduling based on the best time to use from a grid or/and carbon perspective. See:

**Sonoff S20 programmer:**

A standard USB to UART programing cable can be used to upload firmware to the SonOffS20 smart plug. Connect up power and RX/TX lines to the 4 pin programming connector on the plug:

To upload firmware, hold down the push button, reset the power to the plug (unplug and plug the programmer back in) and then keep holding down the push button until the firmware upload progress starts. 

**Safety: Disconnect the plug from the mains when programming**
It's advised not to connect to the mains when the case is open from a safety perspective for obvious reasons.
