My OpenEVSE behaves in an odd way which is best described with a video which I have linked here:

I have used three different iPads and two iPhones. One iPad had Safari, Opera, Firefox and Chrome but all units showed the same ‘sleepy’ behaviour which ever browser was used.

The problem comes after having accessed the OpenEVSE successfully, when returning to use it again it appears to have frozen part way into refreshing the screen and the only way I have found to wake it up is to momentarily switch off the WiFi under IOS settings after which all is well once more.

This behaviour has existed for me for years now using many IOS versions and I guess it’s time to sort it out.

Hi Brian,

Does this only happen with iOS devices, and from those Apple devices do you have problems accessing any other local devices?

Or is it just an incompatibility between iOS and OpenEVSE in your environment? I’m sure others here must be using this combination.

I have only seen the problem using iPads and iPhones. My wired PC does not have the same problem. Other local devices such as rpi have Wifi connections but do not show any problems although they are only accessible from the wired PC.

Yes, agreed there must be many others reading this who have a very similar setup but do not see the problem, hopefully someone will confirm this is true.
