Samsung wired remote controller as thermostat, Gen 7 Samsung?

I’ve asked Samsung if there is a date for the update to reduce the 2 degrees to 1 but nothing planned as yet.

Our thermostat is only really a “top limit off” device and I’ve found that the Samsung water law works reasonably well to maintain a temp of around 20 degrees without touching anything so we are reasonably cosy…

I have a selection of Arduino based DS18BW thermostats I use with 1/2degree hysteresis and I am occasionally tempted to try using one as an external thermostat.

I’ve been wondering if the Homely thermostat would be any better

I posted an update on my Homely Controller a few days ago.

tldr; I disconnected it as I wasn’t happy with the performance, but may have found another option to change the WL setpoint throughout the day using the Smart Grid Control settings.

I’m curious do you have a PWM primary pump? Also what’s your mean Flow temp?

Yes, I have a PWM primary pump. No buffer & the PWM primary pump is my only pump.

Here is a link to the Emoncms page:

Not sure what you mean by mean flow temp, sorry. I have WL set to 38C at -3C and 28C at 15C, targeting DT5.

Yes that’s what I meant. Your numbers look quite nice, my heatpump struggles to modulate itself at such low flow temps and keeps cycling.

I’ve added a home assistant link and I’m able to play with the hysterisis by enabling/disabling zone (not as a thermostat, keeping the water law effective) to control thee hysterisis with fine grain.

Cheers
