Hi,
I have newly installed Samsung Mono r290 heatpump (AE080CXYDEK). I don’t understand how it controls mixing valve. I’m using external thermostat and water law. For cooling, water law zone 1 is set with high and low value 18. When any mode stops it turns mixing valve to 100% mixing closing it. When heating mode runs and temperature is low, it tries to open it (6s pulses every 2 minutes). When in cooling mode, it sends pulses to more mixing (when already 100% mixing), closing the cold water input. I thought that they’ve made a mistake and instead of mix more / less, they programmed it as colder / hotter water, which is reversed when cooling, but as you can see, even when mixed water dropped to 16degC, below 18degC target, it sent same direction (mix more) pulses. So either first set of pulses or second one is wrong and it’s not about reversed logic.
I don’t understand the logic if there is any. Does mixing valve work with samsung for anyone when cooling mode is used? I’ve found two more topics that mention issues with mixing valve, but neither had any resolution.
You will have to open the graph in full size to see the 6s pulses.
The LWT pulses in second half were when I tried to change FSV#2091 (thermostat 1 application) from “thermostat and WL turns compressor on/off” to “only thermostat turns compressor on/off” no effect noted.
I’ve installed home assistant in the middle. Right now it’s in forwarding mode - when HP wants to use booster/backup heater, turn mixing valve cw, ccw, … input signal goes to output and it does what HP says. I can easily change it so home assistant will control the mixing valve itself, but I always try to use original controls whenever possible, because when something fails any technician should be able to fix that. When I use HA for something, only I will be able to fix that. I just feel like I’ve tried every setting possible and nothing works.
