Thanks for dropping in and adding to this. I’d been reading some of your posts on other threads and thought you had a similar setup.
Again that’s all really helpful info and good to have a comparison to someone. I hadn’t noticed the defrost cycles yet so useful to know before I stand there timing again wondering what’s going on.
I’ve got my temperatures at 31 and 41 now with a 4 degree hysteresis, so will wait for some variations in weather temperatures to see how that works both in terms of cycling and keeping the house warm.
Hi all, hope you’re still feeling toasty warm in this cold snap we’re having. It’s been a good test of my settings though so thought I’d share.
Overall it has been working really well. Cycling is about the same so no problems there. I did bump up the higher flow temp (the one for the lower outdoor temp) to 42 and then 43 from 41 as it was just a little too chilly upstairs where we’ve not got the best sized rads. But honestly the power consumption/cost is fine for us.
Just before it got really cold I actually put the lower flow temp figure (or one for the higher outdoor temp) down to 28 and that was fine. Will see when we get closer to the 14 degrees mild temperatures.
4 degree hysteresis seems to be working fine too. The house temperature doesn’t really drop before the compressor kicks back in.
So thank you for all your help.
Here are some shots of our heat pump energy consumption over the last week or so
Resurrecting this thread as I wanted to sense check something with you all. On a Facebook group I’m in for Samsung Heat pump owners people keep saying you need 2091 and 2092 set to “Do Not Use” for water law to be working. But I’m 99% sure mine is running on Water Law with 2091 being used.
They are also saying that if the home screen says Heat on the left and Water Law on the right then it isn’t running Water Law and it only doing so if it says Auto on the left and Water Law on the right.
Am I going mad? Are they right and I’ve misunderstood this whole thing?
That’s all nonsense. 2091/2 Do not use means that the wired remote controller’s thermostat will be used to limit the heat pump as opposed to an external 3rd party thermostat. As long as the Standard Temperature setting is Indoor and not Water Outlet, then Water Law ( weather compensation) will be operating irrespective of whether an external thermostat or the controller’s thermostat is being used.
I’ve never used Auto and always had Water Law operating.
