I’ve just updated my self-installed emoncms installation to the current version 11.9.8, which is good. Thanks a lot for the continuing efforts!
I am only monitoring the overall HP+immersion (BSH) power draw, rather than HP/BSH separately - it’s not really feasible to do this easily. I have been compensating for the input/output energy from the immersion heater by adding its power draw (3kW nominal, I think it’s slightly more in actuality) to the HP output power when the Booster Heater (BSH) flag is on. This worked great for at least getting some value out of it from a COP viewpoint, otherwise I’m putting energy in and getting none out. This is particularly noticeable on a legionella run, where the HP goes to its standby 23W and the BSH is doing 3kW+!
I saw that the HP app now supports separate immersion heater data. Great! I added my assumed/calculated data feeds for BSH power/energy to the app config, and it went back and reprocessed 600+ days of data. Except now it has the original HP input power feed (which includes my assumed BSH power) and the actual BSH power added to it, which is obviously 3kW more than it was previously, or indeed actually was.
I suppose I’d have to reprocess all the HP input power values and indeed output power values that were modified because the BSH flag was on to get the right total. Is that the case, and if so, can I do this, and how? I’m happy to write Python to do this if it’s otherwise impossible, just some hints would be helpful.
Thanks!
