Hello. Recently I have noticed that many people from different countries are participating in this community. With the help of energy monitoring tools we have access to a lot of data for indoor temperatures. Looking around heatpumpmonitor.org I`ve noticed that alot of users in UK keep their indoor temperatures around 19-20 degrees. Can you share experience with indoor temperatures in your country?
For instance - in my home we keep indoor temperature around 22 degrees, which is very comfortable for day and night time. I have two children - boys - 10 and 13 years old. Most of the users here in Bulgaria keep their indoor temperaures around 23-24 degrees. I ve seen houses with 27 degrees indoor temperatures.
Wow !
Interesting question
I live in the South of England.
When our heat pump installer came to do a heat loss survey, he suggested designing for living areas, or areas where we sit still with a design temperature of 20°C and bedrooms with a design temperature of 18°C.
I personally would find 22 degrees on the warm-side for sleeping. My 6yo son complains about being too hot in bed!
Keep the house at 18-20 , heat off totally in bedroom so it’s sat around 15 . Use the log burner of an evening . Now find staying away at a hotel generally much too warm. Wouldn’t fancy 27, unless on holiday
I keep the house at around 21°C, except for the bedroom that we prefer between 19 and 20°C. Our living room stays at 21°C without any solar or human gains, so it will typically be at around 22°C-23°C when occupied. We kept the house much colder with our old gas heating, but I’m tradin some of the tremendous heat pump efficiency gains for comfort . We’re in Berlin, Germany and I think this is quite typical.
