I watched the Renewable Heating Hubs episode about “Poor water quality” the other week and it made me realise a Power Flush wasn’t made when installing my heat pump last year.
I contacted the installer and they confirmed it wasn’t done because I had new underfloor heating put in and all radiators changed upstairs.
They offerer to come back and do a power flush now but the case manager just sent me this:
The area manager has asked me to make you aware that the power flush will not include the UFH circuit, due to the risk of moving any sediment which may be existing in the radiator circuit upstairs. Everything else, will be able to be flushed.
I’m not really sure what the best practices are when doing a power flush. But this feels odd as the whole reason is to remove all sediment and impurities?
We got very hard water where we live (West Berkshire), is it worth asking them to put in inhibitor and/or demineralise the water as well?
