Openhab on the same rpi or separate?

I want to install and configure openhab

Should I install it on the same rpi or separate?

If separate, I think I should switch to using it’s mqtt instead of the local installed one, right?

My preference is for separate so an update of one cannot upset the other .

I run MQTT and Node-Red on a different machine and use that Broker for all my IOT stuff so I have not installed Mosquitto on the EmonCMS machine.

Just watch for the 'clientID` (different for different machines) and the user / password combo (I use the same pair for everything internally).
