OpenEVSE Glitches

I’ve recently been having an increasing number of problems with my OpenEVSE unit. I’m not seeing much activity on Github so I thought I’d post here. Issues linked below for reference but in summary -

• Schedule resets itself to 02:30-05:42 - I assume this is a default setting somewhere?
• Charging requires reset of Wifi firmware
• Clock reset to UNIX Epoch, NTP not working. RTC battery issue?

Does anyone know if it’s possible to retrieve logs from the unit that I can use to diagnose the issue? It’s been working reliably for years so I don’t know what’s changed recently.

Clock reset to UNIX Epoch, NTP not working. RTC battery issue?

It sounds like all the issues you’re experiencing could be related to incorrect time. Have you checked the voltage of the RTC battery? The battery is replaceable, CR1220 I beleive.

I have occasions when the time randomly changes for no discernable reason despite the time setting being NTP. That invariably means the car doesn’t charge when it is supposed to.

I pulled the battery last week and it was perfectly fine voltage wise despite being in there for a few years.

Perhaps whatever NTP server that is hardwired is having issues.

To fix it I switch to manual (which puts the time correct) and then back to NTP. Perhaps I should just leave it on manual.
