Metering DHW separately to Space heating_Vaillant

Hi Ive got a Vaillant AroTherm Plus
I see others on OEM are reporting DHW separately to space heating.
Is this something I can enable with settings?
Within myheatpump app settings Enable daily pre-processor is ON ; not sure if that is relevant.

Hi Bertie,

how are you monitoring your Vaillant? If you’re using ebus, the device reports the status of the 3-way-valve as an ebus message. I’m using this to assign the DHW stamp. If you’re purely using an OEM kit, I think you need a monitoring clamp around the wire driving the valve, though I’m not sure how exactly that’s done as I don’t have a kit myself

I’m using fully OEM kit. I guess I’d need some additional hardware then.

You will need DHW status sensing hardware.

If you have an emonPi2 as your base-station (blue box with LCD display), you’ll need:

Note: Installing the DHW status sensor will involve connecting into the 240V switched Live terminals on your heatpump controller, which feed the diverter valve. Ensure the system is fully isolated before removing cover and then test to ensure circuit is dead, if in doubt get an electrician to help install.
