We recently had some double glazing fitted. A couple of weeks after receiving our FENSA certificate, we got an email asking whether we would be willing to let an assessor come and survey the installation to ensure that it complied with building regulations. As our result, our installers are having to come back for a couple of days to refit 5 windows. It seems like every double glazing installer has to undergo a handful of such inspections every year.
Does anyone know of a similar process for checking that heat pump installers are compliant?
Yes, MCS does this. But I don’t know how common site assessments are. I believe they are planning to do more site visits, particularly for installers who get more complaints as part of the new overhaul to MCS which is launching this year.
All MCS installers should have had at least one site visit when they first join the scheme.

My Dad had a heatpump installed last year, and it was audited by MCS who had a couple nitpicks for the installer to come back and fix.
