I’ve just noticed that in my /home/pi directory there is a sub-directory called huawei-hilink-status. Is this directory supposed to be there, and if so what is it?
I’m a bit concerned after all the recent brouhaha about Huawei gear.

Sure, it can be removed if you’re not using a hi-link 3G dongle.
The folder just contains a python script which gets the current status of a hi-link 3G dongle. It’s very harmless. Take a look at the code yourself:
It’s safe to remove this folder if you wish.
