How to set up emoncms for staged heat pump

Hiya,

So I’ve slowly been working through getting my emonPi2 set up to monitor my heat pump… Currently I’ve got feeds set up which I’ve pulled from a combination of voltage / power from emonPi2 and a lot of temps via ModbusTCP.

It seems that the next step is to set up the “Heatpump App” on emoncms - but here is where I am currently scratching my head… My heat pump is a little unusual in that it’s a (ground source) CTC Ecopart i425 which while it’s a ‘single’ heat pump, internally its actually two heat pump modules (10kW, 14kW) that work as a three-stage system both independently, then together.

Topology wise, both have separate brine in/out and primary in/out. Both primary outs are tee’d and go to the (3 port) buffer initially, but the smaller module can be diverted to DHW.

So fundamentally I get measurements for power to both compressors, brine in out for both, primary in out for both and system secondary flow(s) and return…

Looking at the app setup, this really doesn’t seem to fit the model… Am I a bit lost hoping to hook into heatpumpmonitor.org, or is there a way I can get set up?

I suggest you try to start with getting the feeds together for the individual heat pumps. Once you have these (most importantly the heat power), you could add them together to have a sum feed if that makes sense. Do you have some sort of graph of your system with marked locations of the sensors you have?
