Hi Guys – looking for some advice on the best way to migrate from an existing original generation “emonpi” (with just one of its two CT inputs used) and an emonTx (with all 4 CT inputs used) to a brand new “emonpi2”. The new emonpi2 has 6 CT inputs onboard, so I will have one spare left at the end.
I’d like to keep all my old ‘Input’ configurations as there is quite a bit of post processing happening and also keep all the 5+ years (1.5GB) of historical data contained in the ‘feeds’.
I have tried the ‘sync’ module, but as the node ‘types’ are actually different, it doesn’t do what I need, it just creates new ‘nodes’ in the emonpi2 with the old names/configurations, from the original emonpi1, and does not link or remap them to the new hardware inputs…
The traditional option exporting a backup archive from the ‘old’ to ‘new’ will likely do the same thing, and I’m concerned some of the things in the emonpi1 export file will not be compatible with the newer emonpi2 setup (hub config, radio driver references etc)…
Is there a smart way to do this without losing config/history?
Note: There is nothing actually wrong with the original emoinPi1 setup, it is perfectly functional, and I can have full web and ssh access to it. I have valid/working backups etc, I just fancied trying out the new platform..
