Hi Folks, apologies if someone has already documented this, I’ve searched the forum and failed up to this point. I have enabled cooling on my Vaillant Arotherm and it runs fine. The problem is that cooling is naturally shown as defrost in heat pump monitor as it has no way of knowing the difference between a defrost cycle and cooling. I also run Home assistant with the MyVaillant integration which has a sensor entitled “Energy Manager State” which actually identifies when the ASHP is in cooling mode. Has anyone used this sensor to flag to EMONSCMS so cooling is displayed correctly and if so how was this achieved.
You need to go into settings and enable a click box to automatically detect cooling. @glyn.hudson the man, I have forgotten exactly how
and the following posts for a bit more.
Hi Mark,
I’ve enabled cooling on your system ![]()
Brilliant, thx Glynn. Can you tell me how to access that config screen please. I do recall seeing it when I installed my system last May but can’t find it now.
It’s in emoncms.org under Apps > MyHeatPump > Settings
After it’s enabled, you need to click the button in MyHeatPump settings to re-process the daily data. I’ve done this for you, it’s now also showing in HeatPumpMonitor
