When I compare the prices and specs I keep telling myself it’s too cold, dark and isolated, plus taxes are higher, food and cars cost more🙂, but it probably all balances out in the end.
There is no inheritance tax there (used to be but law changed).
There are quite a few properties for sale and many have ground source but also air source heat pumps.
Much colder average winter temperatures than the UK.
At minus 25C they reckon on a COP of around 2.
Of course there’s no natural gas to speak of and oil / direct electricity heating can’t compete price wise with heatpumps.
