Heat pump "flexibility" metrics & data

Hi all, is there any tracking of heat pumps on heatpump monitor that are being controlled in line with time of use tariffs?

We got our Daikin installed last summer, and I originally was on Agile and set the controls to turn the heatpump off(3 degrees setback) during the 4 - 7pm peak. We had a COP of ~4 up until Christmas. Since then, I’ve swopped over to the Cosy tariff, and Havenwise are controlling the heat pump. The COP has taken a nosedive(~3.2), but, we’ve shifted over 60% of our electricity use to the 9 low tariff hours, and I think we’re definitely making cost savings and a bit more comfortable during the 6 - 7pm lull.

Is p/KWh of heat the best metric for tracking the benefit of this type of control, and is there any tracking of systems being controlled like this?

Using the Costs page, you can see the running cost of all heatpumps for a selected tariff.

You can filter on your location to find your own system, and compare costs on different tariffs.

There’s no flag on systems to say which tariff they actually use, and some will be running off battery anyway so their actual costs will be lower. So this costs page needs a little salt.

Maybe some sort of flag to say you are controlling against a TOU tariff and/or battery would be useful. I feel like COP is not the only key metric we need to be looking at(although obviously systems need to be running as efficiently as possible, in the round).

On a bit of a tangent; would it be possible to add the Tomato Energy ‘Lifestyle Standard’ and ‘Lifestyle EV’ tariff options to the comparison?

These tariffs are very competitive with Octopus, especially now that Agile has become non-viable. I switched to Tomato a couple of months ago, and my average cost per kWh has been 16p, with no battery or solar, and that’s for all electricity usage, not just heat pump.
