I’ve had mine for less than a year and it’s always been a bit heavy on the batteries , My last set lasted 17 days, but the last set I put in has only lasted five days. I tested the batteries (brand new) before putting them in and they were fully charged. after 5 days they have only reduced in charge 1 bar on my tester which has 18 bars, so down to 17 but that wasn’t enough apparently to keep it working?
V1 or V2? You might have a fault on yours. I have an emonTH2 running on two black eneloop pro cells, it started at 2.7 V in July and it’s now touching 2.4 V, with an external DS18B20 connected.
How often does it send a packet of data? That is the big user of energy.
The default is 58 s, to be logged every minute. If you’re logging less frequently than this, it is probably worth changing the sketch to only transmit with an interval of a few seconds less than your Feed Interval in emonCMS.
Why? The emonTH2 contains a step-up converter to generate a stable 3.3 V as the battery voltage drops, extending the life of the batteries.
Ah! thanks I’ll try getting in touch with trystan then.
BTW I understand that it is also a humidity sensor but I have no idea whatsoever how to get the readings . can anyone let me know if they have that part working please?
Good news is that your humidity readings have been logging since mid February - so it is there!
How do you access the data? Is it by logging into emoncms.org, or do you just use the link provided by the QR code on the front of your emonHP/emonPi2/heat pump data logger?
I am getting all my other readings ok including the room ensor on my main emoncms Graph but not the humidity? is there anything else I need to do to get them?
Good news is that Gwil is sending me a new room sensor! now that’s what I call service !
