Free Air-to-Air Heat Pumps for Government Trial

Hi everyone, I thought the group might be interested in a trial which is being run by Energy Systems Catapult for DESNZ. It’s only available to owner-occupiers with electric heaters and a smart meter. Households which meet the criteria could have an air-to-air heat pump installed completely free of charge, in exchange for some data monitoring and some survey questions. Hmm, their questionaire seems dubious.

They concluded I’m not suitable without asking what I would have thought to be important questions. Maybe I should try again and lie to discover what it was they thought I answered wrong.

That ruled me out, I didn’t look further. I only use electric heaters in rooms that don’t normally need heating, gas fires in the two rooms that do.

I shall consider an air-air heat pump when the ROI becomes sensible.
