Fabricate a cooling flag

Hi All,

I seem to have misconfigured my heatmeter to heating only when changing it to return position instead of flow, which is permanent once it is out of transport mode. :frowning: So it is not reporting cooling power.

I’m not really interested in the COP while cooling, but I would want to avoid the cooling influencing the heating COP numbers.

To fix this I would like to create a cooling flag/feed in emoncms, but I’m not sure how to best approach this. I’m thinking when flow is lower than return, and the OT is over 20 degrees it should be one, otherwise 0.

Anybody here that is good in fabricating such a thing in the emoncms feeds?

Hello @Roels

There is another solution to obtain heat data that show’s both heating and cooling when the meter does not return negative values (cooling) and that is to use the heat calc input that emonHub generates based on the flow rate and flow minus return temperature DT.

Do you see the heat calc input on your emoncms inputs page. Happy to look at this for you if it’s on emoncms.org?

Hm, that would be a lot better I guess. It’s on emoncms yes. I do see a heatmeter_heat_calc input.
