External access to emonBase

I want to open up an external port to my emonbase so that I can access my feeds etc. from work or my mobile phone when out of the house etc.

I have a static IP which makes it easier but is there anything specific in the configuration I should be looking at other than following how-to-make-apache-secure type guides on the internet?

Anyone doing this and have tips to share? Or is this a really stupid thing to do?

Personally, I’d go with this view. :laughing:

Opening a Port is generally not a good idea.

Use remote.it or Dataplicity - they are both good alternatives (search the community for examples).
