Hi
We’ve a Samsung12 kw ASHP with wired controller and a wireless Honeywell Home thermostat/CH controller.
A question on meter data. The HP has an inline meter. It registers 19000kwh which I assume is kwh used since install in Jan 2022.
Annual total elec bill (whole house, not just HP) is about 9kwh.
The Energy Usage graph on the Samsung wired controller shows 2800kwh for 2024 so far, with 2 months to go, so lets say 3500kwh for the year. 3500kwh x 3 years of service doesn’t get close to the 19000kwh on the inline meter and also doesn’t fit well with our annual bill – the HP will be the biggest share of 9000kwh per annum so more that 3500kwh per year.
In peoples experience, is the wired controller data usage accurate? I’m more inclined to trust the inline meter.
I have no way of getting performance data from the system – ie no monitoring setup at all beyond the energy usage function on the wired controller and the inline meter. I’m not a coder (used to do Cisco routers in the noughties but things have moved on !).
I’ve no idea how to go about setting up monitoring – and kinda hope there is a simple app - but I doubt it.
Grateful for any recommendations. I dont need anything too complex but something showing energy use, cost (if there is option to input the rate) and then historical etc.
Thank you.
