I have a EmonPi system monitoring a remote site where the Pi and Arduino are co-located and communicate over a virtual serial port on a USB connection. This is all working well and I’ve seen no issue at all with one admin user. I have added a 2nd user and it appears that I need to input all of the feed data and dashboards for the 2nd user.
I started by duplicating the device information from the admin user and expected to see the Inputs page populated with the data. I can see no data at all for the 2nd user (admin user still working perfectly). Can anyone shed any light as to what I’m doing wrong please.
Logged in as the 2nd user I can see EmonHub publishing data to my duplicated Input but no data appears on the Input page.
I hope that I’ve made this clear enough.
Hello Carl, Emoncms is not designed to be used this way, inputs, feeds, dashboards and apps are all associated with a single user. On the emonPi2 this user is the main admin user.
Hello, The remote site monitors some amateur radio equipment - power consumption and battery backup systems. We wanted to allow select individuals to be able to see the dashboard but ideally as read only (which I now know can’t be done). The 2nd user would allow the admin configuration to be slightly more ‘safe’ than letting other users in as admin. Is there a way to have a 2nd user use the same data as admin and have it’s own dashboard with associated feeds etc? If the input data can’t be shared I can’t see a use for multiple users or have I got that wrong?
