Just wondering if there is a separate image for the emonhp or if we can redeploy using the same process and image for
https://docs.openenergymonitor.org/emonsd/index.html
Only reason I ask is that I can see the boot folder has “emonHP-21Jul21” and not emonSD
I was hoping to update to the latest clean base image but don’t want to break everything just yet…
Hello @KnightPhoenix the emonHP image is a minor variant of the emonSD image mostly to make preperation of the emonHP units easier in the office here. The emonHub configuration is pre-populated for reading from Modbus electric and MBUS heat meters installed as standard as emonHP is more of a managed, pre-provisioned service that we provide.
@glyn.hudson mentioned he is going to update the emonHP base image soon to match the latest emonSD so it might be worth holding off if your system is working fine. I will mention this post to Glyn.
Hi @TrystanLea @glyn.hudson is it possible to get the latest copy of the emonHP image also, any reason why it is not available with all the other images?
@glyn.hudson
Has there been any update on this as the emonHP image is based on the Buster release and older versions of php and other components.
Can we take some form of backup and use the standard EmonSD image here - emonSD Download — OpenEnergyMonitor 0.0.1 documentation or is there a different image or prcess for this?
Upgrading the repo’s and pushing the release update / other comonents is possible but is far from the recomended process, It is also far cleaner to deploy to a new OS and updated components and copy required configuration accross.
I would also be more than happy to buy an updated SD card to swap out on the emonhp if this is easier.
