The heat meter and the rest of the kit has been installed.
When I plugged the emonHP into my LAN (different subnet), it picked up an IP address that was already assigned to another device (static).
I have tried rebooting the emonHP and its still the same.
Thank you.
I have managed to sort this out. Assigned a different static IP address using the mac address of emonHP and then rebooted the device.
I do not know if there is an easy way to find the mac address, but I had to log into my switch to find this out.
Yes. It was really odd for the emonHP to have picked up an address which was already assigned. I’m not sure if it was something with the specific subnet.
If the ‘yes’ is that the DHCP range and Static range overlap, this is expected behaviour. The DHCP doesn’t know you have assigned one of ‘its’ addresses as static so just uses it.
