The other thing to consider is whether the car measurement is taken at the plughole (AC) or at the battery (DC). The former is more useful if youâre interested in your electricity bill and the latter if youâre considering how much range youâve added.
A 7.3kW (or even 11 or 22kW) power supply and charger canât help but generate a fair amount of heat. They often use water cooling to keep the electronics cool during the charge. That heat will be included in the former but not in the latter.
