Hey folks!
I’ve noticed something in my data that looks a bit like a defrost cycle but is happening in this warm weather.
Today for example, steady state operation, no zones on underfloor heating, power spikes, flow temperature drops and compressor ramps up.
Contrast that to another day of steady state in cooler temperatures where it doesn’t exhibit this behaviour.
Any thoughts? I’m just curious. I don’t have social media… I just check emoncms in the mornings instead
Not a defrost, but a dip in the heat output from the heat pump, and the compressor increasing power to compensate and then the output returns to the previous level and the compressor settles back down on the lower power:
This is something we see from time to time on Ecodans, which could be caused by the refrigerant cycle dropping out of its ideal working condition. I wouldn’t worry about it if it happens infrequently.
Can see a couple more instances in this time period.
