I just connected the DHW Status box+cables. Hardware connected at time around 22:51 (see step fnct below). But I don’t understand as I toggled the diverter valve twice, in the time window after 22:51, but there is no toggling seen in the plot…?? How or where should the diverter valve status data appear? (HP is not putting out heat (in this test run), I"m just toggling the valve for testing purposes.)
Maybe worth a read…
Hi Glen,
Don’t know if you already did this step, but it may be worth emailing the shop to ask if you have the correct version of DHW valve sensing kit to suit your valve actuator.
Afaik there are two types of kit for different actuators. At first I had the wrong one and was getting all sorts of meaningless signals in the pi feed. When the shop sent me the appropriate kit, all came into focus
Good luck, David.
David,
Thanks. Can you show me what healthy status data looks like?? Is it a spike or step function, or what, and between what values? A graphic of your data feed would be best, if you can grab that.
Also, is the correct data feed the emonpi/analog feed or the emonpi/heatpump_dhw feed?
(I see a tiny super noisy signal in the emonpi/analog feed, but seems to correlate better to HP power than to diverter valve state. It cannot be the correct signal. heatpump_dhw is deadflat value = 1. I will double check for connection issue, but unlikely.)
heatpump_dhw will read 1 during DHW cycle and 0 when off.
As per the post I put a link to above, you may have a faulty optoisolator unit, dodgy connection, or interference, but worth checking through things.
All,
Thanks for the data and advice.
I got it resolved. It was just a bad connection.
