I think all accumulated measures in the powergraph (not bargraph) view are based on downsampled data once you reach large windows and this could be due to the sampling missing the defrosts.
If totals are build based on those downsampled data, they’re wrong.
I want to see the total kWh used for defrost during a year.
Can see these figures by adding the appropriate columns on HeatpumpMonitor.org:
(though this may be skewed if heat pump is also used for actual cooling)

I have the tag cooling activated to differenciate cooling from defrost

The reason is that the power graph view is not intended for such huge timespans. The defrosts are lost in the downsampling. However, the accumulated defrost data is collected and stored in the daily accumulated database. It’s just not shown in the bargraph view. I’d be happy to implement that and put in a pull request, as I’m currently anyways heavily into building some features into the app.
It appears, the defrost energy is not separately processed in the daily processing? We have cooling, but no separation with defrost. Here’s daily_data in my browser console. Am I missing something?
