I am looking to use an EmonTh linked to an Emonpi to measure humidity and internal/external temperature for a community hall. There is no broadband on site so a GSM router will be used. Anyone know how much data this will consume on a monthly basis so I know what SIM card contract to take out? Happy to extend the measuring interval to 5 minutes if this can be done to reduce data?
Hello @Preselian sorry I don’t have an exact figure on this, but you can reduce bandwidth by setting the sentinterval rate in emonhub to a longer value and using http rather than https. See: https://github.com/openenergymonitor/emonhub/blob/master/conf/emonpi.default.emonhub.conf#L75
This is set from within the emoncms interface running on the emonpi, click on setup > EmonHub > Edit config
