Daikin and ONECTA energy usage gone crazy

Has anyone seen their Daikin control unit and ONECTA data insights suddenly show high erroneous energy usage values?
This July I’m suddenly seeing 2600% increase after only 23 days. 1007kWh! Usually a month is 30-40kWh this time of year for standby and DHW.
Thankfully Octopus Energy usage shows roughly 25kWh and my OEM shows 26.6kWh for July so far.
It’s an Altherma 3 6kW ASHP less than a year old.
Any theory’s on unit settings gone wrong please? Thank you David

There may be an issue with the immersion heater. The app hasn’t actually got a way to monitor an immersion heater, it just assumes that it’s consuming 3kW the entire time it sees it ‘on’.

When I first had my Daikin installed the immersion heater was turned down to minimum, and it resulted in the app showing lots of energy being used while the disinfection cycle failed to run.

Thank you,
This could be possible in that Daikin thinks it is on as it is showing about 3-3.5kWh being used per hour. Which is the rated immersion. The tank is a Mixergy tank and I can confirm the immersion isn’t on and the Mixergy is registering 0kWh for the same period and in fact every day is 0 as I don’t use the immersion.
Do you recall what you changed to fix it please Ben?
Thank you David

It was solved for me by the installer taking the cap off the immersion heater and turning the dial from minimum output to (I assume) maximum output.

Keep in mind though I’ve got a Joule tank, so I don’t know if it’ll be exactly that for you. If it does think it’s in the middle of a disinfection cycle then rebooting the system from the MMI (through changing a setting for example) will cause it to fail the cycle and show an error.

Thanks, as it’s just started in July and not seen before I think it’s likely to be a software update by either Mixergy or Daikin and a “0” is now a “1” in some code somewhere.
Will contact them both and raise a fault.
