Daikin 8kw heat loss oversizing

Just had a quote from Octopus. Their heat loss calculation is 5,768kw but they have specified the 8kw Daikin unit. They tell me that the 6kw unit only outputs 5,740kw based on a flow temp of 50°. My replacement rads are a bit oversized as I am aiming for a flow temp of 45°. Should insist on the 6kw unit?.

Both units modulate down to the same “speed” (~300W input power) and have the same pump. I wouldn’t worry about the 8kW unit at all. It’s the 9kW volcano unit you need to worry about.

The 6 kW unit is a software limited 8 kW. So there should be no issue with oversizing.

good information. I received some technical data sheets from Daikin but I could see any reference to the lowest input power. 8kw unit it is then, thanks

Before installation I had a long exchange with my Octopus account handler asking exactly this question about minimum electrical input and minimum heat output but got nowhere.
The rep insisted he had made calls and emails to Daikin on my behalf but they were unable to give us the information either.
It seems these minimum figures are closely guarded by hp manufacturers. Why? Thank heavens for communities like this where such information is frequently referenced.
(Happy ending: Octopus installed an 8kW unit rather than the 11kW originally proposed)
