Could Someone Give me Advice for Integrating OpenEnergyMonitor with Home Assistant for a Comprehensive Energy Management System?

Hello there,

I am new to the world of energy monitoring and management, and I am looking to build a robust system that can help me better understand and optimize my homes energy consumption. After doing some research, I have decided to use OpenEnergyMonitor as the core of my setup; but I also want to integrate it with Home Assistant for enhanced automation and control.

I want to monitor my electricity usage in real-time, including data from solar panels, battery storage, and individual appliances.

I would like to store and analyze historical data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and potential savings.

Using Home Assistant, I want to create automation rules based on energy consumption data.

I am interested in setting up alerts for abnormal consumption patterns or when energy production from solar panels is low.

I have already set up a basic OpenEnergyMonitor system with an emonPi and a few sensors; but I am not sure how to proceed with the integration with Home Assistant.

Also, I have gone through this post; https://community.openenergymonitor.org/t/best-way-to-integrate-with-homeassistant-tableau/ which definitely helped me out a lot.

Could anyone guide me on the best practices for this integration? Are there specific plugins, configurations, or scripts that would make this process easier?

Thank you in advance for your help and assistance. :innocent:

Hi Rob, welcome to the forum

See the Home Assistant Emoncms integration:

The integration will sync Feeds from Emoncms to Home Assistant. Once the data is n HA you can use HA automations etc.

There is also another HA integration called Emoncms_history, this is used to sync data the other way i.e post data from HA to Emoncms:
