Controlling Ecodan Remote Thermostat via CNRF

I saw this one too.
So in this 3rd case, Asguard runs on CN105, my PAR-WT61 on CNRF.
I can set MRC on Asguard to use my wireless thermostat temp.

In that case, it will use your Mitsu AA with PAR-WT61 temp and Asguard AA when it’s another temp sensor ? Or it will use Asguard AA in any case ?

In this case you can use Asgard AA and Mitsi AA with the PAR.
But when you use an external temp sensor (not the MRC/PAR), then only my AA can be used.

Ok. it’s not totally clear for the moment. What i understand :

  • PAR-WT61 on CNRF : SW1-8 is in the ON position
  • Asgard on CN105
  • R1 on IN1 : SW2-1 is in the ON position

The doc says : Migrating from wireless thermostats (CNRF): Ensure SW1-8 is in the OFF position when using virtual thermostats.

So i that case, PAR-WT61 is no more active, and i can’t use Mitsi AA.

  1. Can i keep SW1-8 AND SW2-1 ON at the same time.
  2. MRC read the PAR-WT61 temp or it’s another sensor ?
  3. Does IN1 take the lead over CNRF in some condition. It might be the proxy feature described.
  4. Can I use Asguard PCB on CNRF port with an other code like GitHub - gekkekoe/esphome-ecodan-remote-thermostat · GitHub

I have only one zone. Can you confirm the wiring & DIP switch position for my use case ?

Asguard AA uses fixed flow temperature mode and dynamically manipulates, you won’t be able to utilise the direct control that Mitsi AA has over the compressor frequency

I don’t know exactly how either ‘learning’ algorithms of either AA will be impacted by the changes proposed in shifting the room thermostat input from living room to bedroom

  1. yes you can keep sw1-8 on if you like to use the wireless thermostat
  2. MRC and PAR are internally mapped to the room thermostats, depends on what you select as master of z1 and/or z2
  3. if SW2-1 is on, in1 takes priority
  4. yes, but why would you want to do that. Here is some more info about them. If you have virtual thermostat then its easier to use them directly. The only scenario where you would want to use CNRF is when you want to run Mitsi AA with an arbitrary temp sensor

I have users using virtual thermostat with the wireless thermostat as sensor. But a 0.1c temp sensor for my AA (and Odin) is recommended. So basically depends on what you want to use.

Asgard AA can handle switching temp sensors.You can use the simulator to see what it does for each profile at a given ambient + room temp combination (and profile, and other settings)
