I have a Daikin Altherma EDLA09. The EDLA types can’t cool, they just heat.
However, I used the cooling mode of my EDLA for two years, as it was available in the MMI menu.
After the Daikin firmware upgrade this winter, I’ve noticed that my heatpump can’t cool anymore.
Daikin and my installer are not interested to solve it (which sounds logically).
I guess this should be a software parameter I could change, to have the cooling mode back available, but I can’t find it.
The main PCB of the heatpump has a serial code EQ19001-41(B). Apparantley, the B stands for Bivalent. So I guess this is an error or Daikin just limits the EDLA for colling in their software.
i have an EDLA11. i am also trying to enable cooling mode. i am aware of the risks of condensation etc. I think the setting has been locked out in the UK. im trying to find a way around the lock out. if anyone has any ideas i would be most grateful.
Geert, how did you get on with trying to change the unit back to cooling?
Mark, the performance was not ok, as I have radiators. I’m planning to install ventiloconvectors, but for the moment this is on hold as my Altherma can’t cool anymore.
