I suppose the term ‘Blog’ covers a multitude of sins.
How about a ‘Blog’ category for important posts such as above, release announcements, key firmware updates, key HW updates and any other sort of announcement.
Admin only allowed to post.
To use create a post, lock it immediately and create a linked post for comments on the main post in the relevant category/topic. Probably pin posts as well.
- Stops this sort of OT discussion
- Allows for announcements to be maintained in chronological order
- Should be easy to find posts subsequently
