Cant view data via heatpumpmonitor.org

Hi all

I am going round in circles a little here. My local emoncms runs fine on pi5. i also have the feeds uploading to emoncms.org

On emoncms.org my apps are public. I have credit on my account but when i upload to heatpumpmonitor i cant see any data. I’ve reset api key, but still no luck. I’ve deleted and uploaded twice to heat pump monitor.

Any guidance id be very grateful.

Thanks

all feeds public

I don’t know, but I think it needs a quantity of data (how much I also don’t know) for the data to appear.

@gwil or @TrystanLea ?

Hi.

I’ve upload the data a few weeks ago and was able to view correctly. I have a cascade system so I have ASHP 1 ASHP 2 plus cascade all viewing correctly in emoncms locally via pi5 and emoncms.org

All feeds public in .org

Hi admin. Thanks for looking into my data. Impossible carnot efficiency is probably when i started to record data from ashp 2. For space heating, the system does run in cascade mode only for a few min then decides which ASHP has the least run time and uses that ASHP. Run time is swapping at 100 hours.

When the main ASHP was being used for space heating the ASHP 2 SCOP went crazy high because it was only being used for 5 min then shutting off. This messed up the readings. The longer the system has been alternating on both ASHP the SCOP is coming to where it should be.

If i set the start date for all time values (unix timestamp)in the app to a known good data set will that come through to HeatpumpMonitor.org or would it be best to clear all data and start again?

In cascade mode I’m using the flow and return from the Main ASHP so I can record DHW. I’m guessing I could add a “true” cascade if I make my own dashboard?. I might look into it.

DHW just started

the cop of 199 is actually this run in cascade but main ASHP was being used for the remaining time for space heating.

The pic below is my cop of 199 on the 6th Oct

Separate issue. I had to fix some sensors because i was getting a negative temp reading on ASHP2 when ASHP was staring up for DHW. I was accumulating a total negative heat output when ASHP2 wasn’t being used.

Yes, I’m a little mad doing all this, but I want to give people a true picture on a house running a cascade system.

Thanks.

Hi, the cascade system has now been approved on HPM:

https://heatpumpmonitor.org/system/view?id=827

Thanks for your submission. However, unfortunately, there are significant errors in the onboard temperature sensor readings, resulting in impossible high Carnot and inflated COP. Therefore, we’ve had to flag the system as having data errors.

Sorry about this, I know this it’s not your fault that onboard monitoring data is not very accurate. It’s important for us to keep the data on HPM as accurate as possible.

I have just logged back on to heatpumpmonitor.org and have come across the exact same problem with my site. It says I have 100% data, I can view some graphs such as the heat demand tool, daily and monthly charts, but then I click on the histogram or compare I get nothing, and when I follow the link to go to emoncms I also get a blank screen, yet if I log on to the emoncms site directly everything is fully populated.

Here is what I get in heatpumpmonitor.org

and here is what I have in emoncms.org

The data is shared and published

And going through the configuration, the url displayed is correct and I have tested that in yet another browser and it produces the graph on the emoncms.org site as expected.

I know it used to display the graph and reports in heatpumpmonitor.org so I’m not sure what has changed. I’d appreciate help sorting this out as well please.

Thanks for uploading my system. I understand that the data has to be accurate and there’s a level of standards that has to be achieved on your platform. I’ll do a little research to see if I can clean up the heat sensor, but I know it won’t ever be as accurate as a heat meter.

I did look into purchasing a level 3 monitoring for a cascade system, but the wife wasn’t too keen as it was a unnecessary expense on a already expensive system.

Thanks

Just following up on my issues above, all of the stats updating the main listing page are updating, the graphs are just empty when viewed apart from the ones I mentioned so I’m baffled as to what is wrong.

Hi.

When I looked into the issue I noticed that on emoncms.org I could change the time stamp via unix but when I went onto Heatpump monitoring to pull that data with the new time stamp it didn’t Time stamp hadn’t changed. I knew then the issue was at the other end of the connection.

I’d expected the time stamp to changed to the one I’d set but 2025/09/30 was still showing.

The team will sort it for you. :+1:

One thing I wonder if it may be affecting the issue, when emoncms.org added the ability to track the DHT I added that to my feeds. I probably haven’t looked since then, but wonder if there is something there that might be affecting the data load and presentation perhaps?

But I don’t get any sort of load errors.

@stubbo66 there seemed to be some strange cache issue with your feed heatpump_leaving_water_temperature_before_buh, after disabling and re-selecting that in the app it’s now working again.

Thanks, I just spotted that was working now, cheers
